About the Brief
The Daily Brief is a project by Ara Pehlivanian with contributions from Scott Meleskie, to filter through the noise and bring you the news you need to build today’s web.
How Articles for the Brief are chosen
- The item should relate to at least one aspect of a web agency’s business (advertising, marketing, web development, etc…) and shouldn’t just be “cool.” There are places for “did you hear” and “check this out” types of links, and the Brief is not it-even if the link is spreading like wildfire on the net at the moment.
- The items chosen should primarily be announcements of some sort that people in a web agency would need to know (i.e. Online ad revenue forecasts, new mobile phone news, social media trends and studies, new web development best practices and techniques…)
- News items should always trump opinion pieces unless the opinion piece is written by a luminary in the field, in which case, the writing of the opinion piece itself becomes a news item.
- No bias. Though we may favour technology A, it doesn’t mean we should cut out an announcement about technology B.
Please note that this site is still “under construction” as in, it’s still being fiddled with and not yet publicly announced (though it is publicly available).
